AI Adventure Camp:
An exciting exploration of Artificial Intelligence!
July 19th – 23rd, 2021 (12pm – 3pm)

Have you ever wondered about the development and regulations of AI? Or, how your data is collected and stored? And who owns that data, anyway? Join us for a 5 day virtual camp where we explore these questions (and many more) by diving into the vast and exciting world of Artificial Intelligence!

Our AI Adventure camp is a digital adventure you won’t want to miss.

The world of AI is larger than you think and we often only see a small part of it. Over 5 days, you’ll learn all about what AI is, how it works, how it’s being used to change our lives, and so much more!

This camp will provide you with ample opportunities to investigate the less considered corners of the AI space like ethics, digital identities, cybersecurity, and how AI might be used in the future.

There won’t be a dull day as you will work through thought-provoking activities and practice your block-coding, programming, and critical thinking skills with applications like Scratch, mBlock, Teachable Machine, and many more!

We will be using programs like Scratch, mBlock, Teachable Machine, and many more.

Camp will run virtually using Google Meet on July 19th-23rd, 2021 and will run 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

The AI Adventure Camp is open to students going into Grades 6-8. (Currently finishing Grade 5-7)

** Please note that this is a free research camp offered by the STEAM 3D Maker Lab at Ontario Tech University. All attendees will be required to sign an informed consent/consent form for participating in the research led by Canada Research Chair, Dr. Janette Hughes. Any personal information will be anonymized for all publications.

Summer Camp for Problem Solvers:
Explore coding, digital making, and more!
August 9th – 13th, 2021

This summer, children are invited to join our STEAM-3D Maker Lab’s FREE Virtual Camp.

Children who want to spend some time leveraging their math & making experience with engaging learning activities are welcome to our Virtual Summer Camp. This camp will help children keep their math skills sharp and also help them prepare for their next year of school.

In this 5-day camp, children will develop plausible solutions for real-life problems and learn some mathematical concepts and subjects. While working through these real-life issues, children can improve their creativity and problem-solving skills.

During the camp, children will have the chance to work with various enjoyable virtual tech tools such as CoSpaces, iRobot, TinkercadThese virtual platforms provide them with lots of opportunities for coding, designing, creating and playing around without being tech-savvy. During this summer camp, you can bring your code to life by programming and create 3D models and worlds using friendly creation tools.

Our summer camp will be hosted online through the Google Meet platform.  The campers will need a Google Meet app pre-downloaded on a computer to access the sessions. The additional resources will be provided during the camp. In order to limit the screen time, short breaks will be supplemented during each session.

The Problem Solver camp is open to students going into Grade 4-6 (Currently finishing Grade 3-5).
