STEAM for Young Children: Critical T(h)inkering is a 2-
day virtual international conference hosted by Ontario Tech University on April 29th and 30th, 2022. With a focus on incorporating STEAM in the early years (ECE through Grade 3), this conference will be a professional learning experience on creativity, engineering, science, and math for early childhood and primary educators.
Full conference participants will receive a digital badge authenticating their attendance from the STEAM-3D Maker Lab.

The aim of the Critical T(h)inkering conference is to bring together professionals with a range of experience teaching with STEAM in the early years. To accomplish this goal, we sought a diverse range of presentations on the themes of “STEAMing with Inquiry”, “STEAMing with Projects”, and “STEAMing with Play”.

What is this conference?
A professional learning experience on creativity, engineering, science, and math for early childhood and primary educators. We encourage new and innovative ideas, and while we have provided potential areas of focus, we welcome proposals outside of these suggestions if you feel it fits the conference topic and audience!
Who is the target audience?
This conference has been designed for early childhood educators, students in the area of early childhood education, and others interested in the use of STEAM and Critical T(h)inkering with children in their early years.
How much does it cost to attend?
It will cost $50 CAD* to register for a single day of the conference (either Friday or Saturday). To register for both days (Friday and Saturday) will cost $100 CAD*. Students qualify for a discounted rate of $40 CAD* for both days of the conference.
Where will the conference be held?
Critical T(h)inkering is an international conference that will be hosted virtually using the Zoom platform. We will not be using breakout sessions and encourage presenters to design their proposals to fully engage their entire audience.
